New Delhi, Dec 5: On the eve of Navy Day, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, approved capital acquisitions totaling ₹21,772 crore to enhance India's naval and coastal security. Among the key approvals were 31 New Water Jet Fast Attack Crafts (NWJFACs), designed for low-intensity maritime operations, surveillance, and anti-piracy activities. These high-speed, indigenously built crafts by GRSE will significantly boost operational effectiveness along India's coastline and islands.

In addition, the DAC authorized the procurement of 120 Fast Interceptor Crafts (FIC-1) to protect high-value naval assets and support rapid response operations. The approval also included advanced Electronic Warfare Suites (EWS) for the Su-30 MKI aircraft, enhancing their ability to counter enemy radar systems.

Six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) were sanctioned for the Coast Guard to enhance surveillance operations, further strengthening maritime capabilities. This robust investment highlights India's ongoing commitment to advancing its defense capabilities and infrastructure.
