India Pakistan conflict: Odisha Guv urges people to support armed forces

Bhubaneswar, May 11: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has urged the people of the state to support the armed forces in their efforts to protect the country.

He was speaking after holding a meeting with representatives from different faiths to discuss the situation following Operation Sindoor, in which the Indian armed forces targeted terrorist sites in Pakistan.

"A meeting was held with representatives from different faiths to discuss the situation after Operation Sindoor. All the representatives gave their full support and expressed solidarity with the armed forces," Kambhampati told reporters.

He also appealed to the people of Odisha to support the armed forces in their fight to protect the country. "It is our duty now to show solidarity with those who are defending our borders. I pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the terror attack, as well as to the martyrs who gave their lives to protect our nation," he added.

India said on Saturday that Pakistan broke the agreement made earlier that day between the military leaders of both countries to stop firing and military actions. India also mentioned that the Indian Army is responding and handling the border intrusions.

In a special briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistan's actions violated the agreement made earlier in the day, and India is taking these violations very seriously. India urged Pakistan to take the necessary steps to address the situation responsibly.

Misri said that India's Armed Forces have been instructed to take strong action if the violations along the International Border and the Line of Control happen again.

Misri said, "In the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the agreement made earlier today between the military leaders of India and Pakistan. This breaks the understanding reached earlier. The armed forces are responding appropriately to these violations, and we take these violations very seriously."

He added, "We urge Pakistan to take the necessary steps to address these violations and handle the situation responsibly. The armed forces are closely monitoring the situation and have been instructed to take strong action if the violations along the International Border and Line of Control continue."
