Cuttack, Feb 18: In another incident of daylight crime in the Silver City, miscreants shot a young man in Cuttack City on Wednesday.

The incident took place at the Nuasahi Press Colony in the evening.

The victim has been identified as Rinku Jena.

According to report, a gang of miscreants followed Rinku Jena and fired shots on him. As a result, Jena sustained critical injuries in his body.

As the miscreants fled the scene after firing, locals rescued Jena and rushed him to the SCB Medical College & Hospital for resuscitation.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The victim is under treatment. A team of police is quizzing him regarding the incident, to reach at the miscreants.

Investigation is underway. The intension of the miscreants leading to the firing is yet unclear, said the police.
