Koraput, June 16: A woman Revenue Inspector (RI) was caught red-handed by Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday while receiving a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a landlord.
The tainted official has been identified as Shailabala Nayak, RI, Kosaguda under Borigumma Tehasil in the Koraput district.
According to sources, the RI was allegedly exploiting a beneficiary to assist him availing a fish pond scheme.
Acting on a complaint, Vigilance officials laid a trap and apprehended the RI with a bribe worth Rs 4000.
The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from her possession.
Following this, a raid was conducted at the RI’s residence to rule out her involvement in amassing DA.
Further investigation is underway with detaining the RI for essential legal actions in connection with the case.
