Vice President to grace IGNOU Convocation ceremony tomorrow

New Delhi, April 6: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will host its 39th Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, 7 April in New Delhi, celebrating the academic achievements of its graduating students and recognising their excellence across disciplines.

The ceremony will be graced by the Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, who will deliver the convocation address as the Chief Guest. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, will be the Guest of Honour for the occasion at the University HQs New Delhi.

Two Ministers from Odisha - Rabi Narayan Naik, Minister for Rural Development, and Panchyati Raj & Drinking Water Minister and Krushna Chandra Patra, Minister for Science and Technology and Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare – along with and Prof Narasingha Charan Panda, Vice Chancellor, Central University, Odisha will grace the occasion at the Regional Center Bhubaneswar. The 39th Convocation of IGNOU will be organised at Jayadev Bhaban, Bhubaneswar.

The dignitaries will confer Degrees and Certificates to 3.24 Lakhs meritorious students including 7119 students of Regional Center Bhubaneswar in person and in abentia. Other distinguished dignitaries attending the event include Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Governor of Goa at Regional Centre Panaji, and Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Governor of Tripura at Regional Centre Agartala, along with other eminent guests from academia, governance, and public life

As the university prepares to host the event, graduates across 51 Regional Centres and five Overseas Centres prepare for a momentous academic milestone. The Convocation Ceremony marks a significant landmark in the lives of graduating students, reflecting years of dedication, perseverance, and academic pursuit. It also reaffirms the University’s commitment to fostering excellence, innovation, and inclusive education in alignment with national development goals.
