Bhubaneswar, May 18, 2026: Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Shivaraj Singh, along with Odisha Chief MinisterMohan Charan Majhi, will inaugurate the Agricultural Conference in Bhubaneswar tomorrow. The Minister is expected to address key issues related to agricultural development and farmer welfare.
Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of India, the conference will be held on 19 May 2026in Bhubaneswar. The event will be chaired by Shivaraj Singh and attended by the Odisha Chief Minister, agriculture ministers, senior officials, scientists, farmer representatives, agri-experts, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), startups, banks, and stakeholders from across the country.
The conference aims to promote holistic agricultural development, enhance farmers’ income, and strengthen collaboration between the Union and state governments. Progress reports of various government schemes and programs will be reviewed, and detailed discussions on emerging agricultural trends will take place.
Key topics will include farmers’ registration, emerging agricultural opportunities, self-reliance in food production, national seed programs (NMEO-OS), PM-Asha, organic farming, agricultural loans, and credit facilities. Successful initiatives from different states will be showcased: Odisha’s achievements in agricultural extension, West Bengal’s crop production excellence, Jharkhand’s FPO-based value chains and agri-startup ecosystem, and Bihar’s success in maize production and marketing.
The conference will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas, sharing experiences, and planning future strategies to ensure sustainable, farmer-centric agricultural growth. Following the event, Shivaraj Singh will address the media.
