Sambalpur, Jan 26: Police recovered the body of an unidentified man near National Highway-53, opposite Hirakud Railway Station in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Monday morning. The deceased, believed to be between 50 and 55 years old, has not yet been identified. A pair of shoes was found near the body, according to police sources.

The body was spotted by passersby near the Railways’ ‘Holiday Home,’ who immediately alerted the authorities. Upon receiving the information, Burla police swiftly arrived at the scene to investigate. The body was then sent to the VIMSAR police outpost morgue for a post-mortem examination.

In light of the preliminary investigation, police have registered a case of unnatural death. While the cause of death has yet to be determined, officials are continuing their inquiry to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
