Berhampur, Ap 13: Two youths were killed and three others sustained critical injuries after two motorcycles collided head-on near Podakhari, under Sorada police limits, while they were en route to watch the Danda dance festival.

The deceased have been identified as Gurudev Pradhan of Gobindpur village and Balia Mallik of Chanchrapalli village. The injured are Gayatri Mallik from Sorada, Pintu Mallik from Bahagapalli, and Jitu Sethi from Lathipada.

Upon receiving news of the accident, the Sorada Fire Brigade reached the scene and rescued the critically injured, who were initially admitted to Sorada Medical for treatment. Given the severity of their injuries, the three have been referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for advanced care.

The two deceased were declared dead on arrival at Sorada Medical.

Sorada police have seized the bodies and launched a detailed investigation into the collision.
