Trump Issues Ultimatum to Iran: "48 Hours to Act or Face Consequences"

Washington DC [US], April 4: In a stark and pointed warning, US President Donald Trump has given Iran a 48-hour deadline to either strike a deal or reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz, threatening severe repercussions if Tehran fails to comply. Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump’s message serves as a reminder of a previous ultimatum he set for Iran, emphasizing that time is running out.

"Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out—48 hours before all hell will rain down on them. Glory be to GOD! President DONALD J. TRUMP," his post read.

On March 26, Trump had extended a pause on strikes against Iran's energy infrastructure, pushing the deadline until April 6, 2026, as part of ongoing diplomatic talks between the two nations. In his social media post, Trump stated that the extension came at the request of the Iranian government and highlighted that the negotiations were progressing positively.

"As per the Iranian Government's request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M. Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing, and despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media and others, they are going very well," Trump wrote.

This latest warning is a continuation of Trump’s earlier position, where he ordered the US Department of War to delay military action against Iran's energy facilities for five days, in light of ongoing diplomatic efforts. Before that, he had issued a firm warning to Tehran, demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours or facing potential strikes on its energy infrastructure. Trump's new ultimatum reiterates the urgency of the situation, as tensions continue to rise in the region. ( With Agency Input)Bottom of Form
