Angul, July 9: Angul police,forest officials and fire services wings are together at pace in the Malayagiri forest on Thursday as 3 Keonjhar-based trekkers went missing in the hill.
According to reports, a team of seven youth trekkers from Keonjhar initiated their mountaineering across the Malyagiri Hill under the Pallahara sub-division. Meanwhile, four members returned to the base safely whereas 3 others remained exiled in the wild forest.
Following a frantic effort to trace them from the hilly terrain, the returnees sought assistance of the locals and police.
Responding quickly, the Fire and Emergency Services personnel launched a search and rescue operation amid a rainy weather.
Joint rescue operations are underway as no clues regarding the missing ones have yet received.
Efforts are on to reach them out soon and essential measures are in place to ensure their safety & security from downpours and wildlife threats, said a fire service personal, part of the rescue operation.
