Supreme Court reserves judgment on petitions against hate speech

New Delhi, January 20: The Supreme Court has on Tuesday reserved its judgment on several petitions challenging hate speeches and the alleged inability of authorities to enforce existing regulations effectively.

A Bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta directed all parties involved to submit brief written submissions. The Bench suggested that most of the petitions would be dismissed, granting the liberty to pursue legal remedies where applicable, except for one case.

The Bench, led by Justice Nath, decided to continue hearing the matter regarding the 2021 hate crime involving a Muslim cleric in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The court aims to review the trial's progress and the actions taken since the incident.
