Koraput, May 6: Kotia witnessed a significant religious event as the ceremonial wheel of Goddess Subhadra’s chariot was installed at the premises of the Shree Jagannath Temple. The sacred wheel, brought from the Shree Jagannath Temple, was taken out in a grand procession on Tuesday and installed following traditional rituals.

The event was attended by Works, Law and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, along with MLAs Raghuram Machha, Ramchandra Kadam, and Taraprasad Bahinipati. Chief Administrator of the Puri temple Arabinda Padhee, local officials, and residents were also present.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister praised the deep devotion of Kotia residents and people from nearby areas towards Lord Jagannath. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the development of Kotia and announced that the Kunduli–Kotia road will be widened under the Works Department. He also stated that the dilapidated revenue guest house in Kotia will be renovated and rebuilt.

On the occasion, forest land pattas, ration cards, pensions, and other government benefits were distributed among the beneficiaries.
