Six killed, seven injured as wedding returnees’ bus collides with truck in Hapur

Hapur, Ap 13: At least six people lost their lives, and seven others were injured on Monday when a bus carrying passengers returning from a wedding procession collided with a truck on the Dhaulana-Gulawati road, authorities said.

Superintendent of Police Gyananjay Singh stated that police teams rushed to the scene immediately, launched relief operations, and transported the injured to nearby hospitals. “Six victims died on the spot, while seven injured passengers are undergoing treatment,” he said.

The bus was carrying a total of 12 people, including one unidentified individual, believed to be the driver. The truck involved in the accident has been removed from the site, and traffic in the area has returned to normal. Police confirmed that the families of the victims have arrived, and legal proceedings are underway.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and directed officials to ensure prompt relief operations at the accident site, according to the Chief Minister’s Office. Further details about the cause of the collision are awaited.
