Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: A 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) attended by around 500 senior and junior NCC cadets concluded at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering of SOA Deemed to be University here, on Saturday.

The camp, which featured a comprehensive program of military training including Guard and Pilot selection, intensive drill, best cadet and best drill competitions, sports events, disaster management awareness, cultural activities and leadership development sessions, was commanded by Camp Commandant Lt. Col. R.K. Joshi and Deputy Camp Commandant Major Ashutosh Tripathy. The camp was organised by 4 (Odisha) Comp Tech Coy Cuttack.

Cadets from ITER, C.V. Raman Global University and Aryan Institute of Engineering and Technology, all from Bhubaneswar, took part in the camp the objective of which was to provide a platform to inspire and empower NCC cadets to become future technopreneurs, agripreneurs, scientists, technocrats, veterinarians and researchers.

Nine Associate NCC Officers and eight Permanent Instructors supported the camp, a major attraction of which was the Tech Fest with the theme ‘Igniting Mind’. Senior division cadets showcased more than 20 innovative working projects in defence technology, robotics, automation, renewable energy and engineering applications highlighting their scientific temperament and technical excellence.

The successful conduct of the camp and exceptional standard of discipline, training and innovation were highly appreciated by Col. S.G. Sudhansu Sekhar, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Cuttack Group, who commended the dedication of the camp staff, Associate NCC Officers, Permanent Instructors and cadets.
