Rayagada, March 23: A major accident was averted at Rayagada railway station after an RPF constable rescued a passenger who slipped while trying to board a moving train.
The incident occurred when a passenger attempted to board the Nagabali Express (20890) travelling from Rayagada to Visakhapatnam. While boarding, the passenger suddenly lost balance and was about to fall onto the tracks.
RPF constable Ankur Chaudhary, who was on duty at the station, noticed the incident and immediately rushed towards the passenger. Showing prompt presence of mind, he caught hold of the passenger and pulled him to safety, preventing a serious mishap.
The passenger narrowly escaped death due to the timely action of the constable. Constable Chaudhary has reportedly saved the lives of passengers on several occasions in the past as well.
His dedication to duty and quick response have been widely appreciated by the public.
