Paradip, Ap 7: Residents of Jagatsinghpur district staged a road blockade at the Sadar Thana Chhaka today, protesting the shortage of domestic cooking gas (LPG).

Locals, who have been waiting in long queues for the past five days, said they were forced to take this step after repeated failed attempts to get gas cylinders delivered to their homes.

“Even staying overnight in long queues didn’t help us get the gas,” one local said.

Many residents also alleged that LPG supplies were being diverted to the black market in the district.
