PM Modi welcomes US-Iran understanding, expresses hope for regional stability

New Delhi, June 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in West Asia, describing it as a positive step toward restoring peace and stability in the region.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister noted that the prolonged conflict had caused significant economic disruption across the world and resulted in the loss of lives in several countries.

He emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement in addressing complex regional challenges and reducing tensions that have affected global markets and trade routes.

“I welcome the understanding reached between the United States and Iran on ending the conflict in West Asia, which has caused serious economic disruption across the world and led to loss of life in many countries,” Modi wrote.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the implementation of the understanding would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region. He also highlighted the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and commerce, issues that have been of concern to many nations due to the strategic significance of West Asia for global energy supplies and international trade.

Modi further stated that India looks forward to continued deliberations on the remaining issues between the parties, with the objective of achieving a sustainable final agreement.

India has consistently advocated dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of disputes.
