PM Modi opens Jewar Airport boosting national economic growth
Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened Phase I of Noida International Airport in Jewar on Saturday, explicitly calling it a distinct marker of India's evolving national spirit. Constructed through an Rs 11,200 crore Public-Private Partnership, this state-of-the-art facility immediately transforms regional logistics. By decentralizing air traffic, the administration expects to generate vast commercial avenues for surrounding agricultural and industrial sectors. Similar to Odisha's strategic push for enhanced eastern seaboard connectivity with the upcoming Sri Jagannath International Airport in Puri, this greenfield aviation hub aims to heavily anchor localised economic zones and attract high-value business investments.
Driving Western Uttar Pradesh Forward
Flight operations from Jewar will directly stimulate economic activity across neighboring districts, particularly benefiting Agra, Mathura, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Etawah. Modi emphasised that local farmers and younger demographics stand to gain immediate dividends from expanding employment networks and streamlined cargo exports. Transitioning into a primary aviation center, Uttar Pradesh now proudly holds one of the highest counts of international transit hubs nationwide. The Prime Minister framed this expansion as a core chapter in the broader "Viksit Bharat" campaign, expressing gratitude to the state that elected him to Parliament.
Transitioning from domestic achievements to international challenges, the Prime Minister addressed mounting global anxiety regarding ongoing conflicts in West Asia. These geopolitical tensions have triggered severe worldwide disruptions affecting essential supplies like food, fertilizer, and fuel. However, Modi assured the public that India is aggressively tackling these crises head-on. Government policies are currently absorbing international market shocks to ensure working-class families and rural agricultural producers do not shoulder the financial burden of distant wars.
