Police launch urgent search after chilling emails terrorise capital

New Delhi is currently on high alert following a series of terrifying warnings sent to prominent locations across the city. Authorities rushed to the Statesman House Building in Connaught Place on Monday after an Axis Bank branch located inside received an ominous email. Law enforcement, alongside specialised dog squads and fire brigade units, quickly secured the perimeter to conduct an exhaustive sweep of the premises.

Employees working inside the bustling commercial hub experienced intense fear as the situation unfolded. One worker recounted the terrifying moment their regular workday was shattered by the evacuation order. People expect their workplaces to be safe havens, and realising that violence could strike at any moment left many shaken. Rushing out into the streets to see police cruisers and emergency responders only amplified the widespread anxiety among the staff.

Educational Institutions Targeted Early Morning

This financial building was not the only target of malicious warnings today. Shortly after 8:00 AM, frantic calls alerted authorities that four prominent educational centers - including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Salwan Public School, Meera Public School, and Army Public School—had received identical threatening messages. Parents and school officials were thrown into a state of deep distress as rapid search operations began to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Previous Incidents Point towards Extremist Groups

Security agencies are treating these recent developments with extreme caution, especially considering a disturbing pattern that emerged late last month. On February 23, key administrative sites like the Delhi Secretariat, the Legislative Assembly, the iconic Red Fort, and various schools were subjected to similar scares. Officials confirmed that those previous emails specifically referenced a "Khalistani group." While fire services and bomb disposal teams found nothing dangerous during those earlier sweeps, police continue to investigate the origins of these persistent digital threats to restore peace of mind across the capital.
