While OTET Paper-I will be conducted from 9 AM to 11.30 AM, Paper-II will be held from 2 PM to 4.30 PM. Around 97,000 candidates will appear for the test.

Odisha: OTET exam begins amid tight security

Bhubaneswar, July 5: The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET)-2026 gets underway in 311 centres across Odisha today amid tight security.

While OTET Paper-I will be conducted from 9 AM to 11.30 AM, Paper-II will be held from 2 PM to 4.30 PM. Around 97,000 candidates will appear for the test.

The exam, being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) was originally scheduled for June 28. It was rescheduled for July 5 following concerns over schedule of OTET and Combined Recruitment Examination (CRE) conducted by OSSSC for recruitment of revenue inspector and amins, both of which were to take place on June 28.

The RI and amin recruitment examinations, however, was held as scheduled on June 28.

The OTET-2026 exam consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for candidates aspiring to become teachers for classes I to V. Meanwhile, Paper II is for candidates who are willing to teach students in classes VI to VIII.

The question paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions for both papers, with each question carrying one mark. The exam is for 150 marks in total. For every correct answer, the candidate will get one mark; however, there will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

Elaborate security arrangements, including CCTV surveillance have been made at the exam cenrtes to check any type of illegal activities.
