Odisha Eyes ONDC Partnership to Boost MSMEs and Tourism

Bhubaneswar, June 18: The Odisha government is exploring collaboration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to expand market access for MSMEs, self-help groups, farmers’ producer organisations, artisans, and weavers across the state.

The proposal was discussed at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, where ONDC officials highlighted the platform’s potential to connect local sellers directly with buyers nationwide through an open digital commerce network.

The state also plans to leverage ONDC to promote key tourist destinations, including Konark, Puri, Chilika, Similipal and Bhitarkanika, enhancing their visibility among domestic and international travellers.

Anu Garg emphasized the need to strengthen digital market access for small businesses and integrate more economic activities into the digital ecosystem. Senior officials from multiple departments, including Tourism, Industries, Agriculture and Mission Shakti, attended the meeting.
