Odisha dominants Day 2 of National Para Fencing meet

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Para Fencing team has secured a total of 12 medals including 6 gold and 6 bronze medals in the first two days of the 2nd National Para Fencing Championship 2026, being held from March 24 to 27 at SMS Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

 

In the second day, in the Women’s Foil Category B, Narmada Singh secured a bronze medal after a tough semifinal bout against Manisha of Haryana, going down with a score of 04-15 lost semifinal match won bronze medal.

 

In the Women’s Foil Team Event, the Odisha team clinched the gold medal, defeating Haryana with a convincing score of 15–06 in the final.

 

In the Men’s Foil Category A, Rakhal Kumar Sethi won the gold medal, defeating Praveen of Haryana in a closely contested final with a score of 15–12.

 

Earlier in the same category, V. Ramesh Rao fought valiantly but lost in the semifinal to Rakhal Kumar Sethi with a narrow score of 14–15, securing a bronze medal.

 

In the Men’s Foil Category B, Omm Prakash Behera clinched the gold medal, defeating Rajneesh of Haryana with a score of 15–08 in the final.

 

Earlier, Rahul Malik secured a bronze medal after losing in the semifinal to Omm Prakash Behera with a score of 11–15.

 

In the Men’s Foil Team Event, Odisha once again dominated by winning the gold medal, defeating Haryana with a score of 15–06. The team included Omm Prakash Behera, Purna Chandra Sethi, Rakhal Kumar Sethi, and V. Ramesh Rao.
