Odisha BSE Matric 2026: BSE to issue Annual High School Certificates in Odia

Bhubaneswar, May 8: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has announced that Class X students will receive their Annual High School Certificates (AHSC) in Odia this year. Officials have emphasized the importance of accuracy to ensure that certificates are free from errors in spelling, letters, or numerical entries.

Before printing the original certificates, schools have been instructed to carefully type students’ details—including name, parents’ names, date of birth, block, district, school name, and subject-wise marks—using Odia phonetic software on Windows 10 or 11, or Indic language software. These details must then be uploaded to the Board’s website. Over 9,000 high schools across the state have received detailed instructions from the Board for this process.

The Board has set May 25 as the deadline for schools to upload accurate student information. Failure to meet this deadline will result in departmental action against headmasters. To ensure smooth operations, nodal centers will be set up at block headquarters across the state.

While students have already received digital certificates via the Board website, many of these do not include names or other details in Odia due to software variations on computers, raising concerns about inconsistencies in digital records.

This year, out of 5,19,251 students who passed the matriculation exams, many have already received digital certificates. However, delays are expected in receiving the original certificates. Unlike last year, when schools distributed certificates within two months, this year the process is likely to take longer.

Education authorities have stressed that schools must meticulously enter students’ information in Odia before uploading it online. Any errors at this stage will appear on the final certificates. Officials warn that students will only be able to verify the accuracy of their certificates upon receipt.
