Delhi, December 19: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has reduced the application fee for entrance test for the batch of 2026-27 across various categories.
For the batch of 2026-27, fees had been reduced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 2,000 for Open, OBC (NCL) and Open-EWS category candidates and from Rs 1,500 to Rs 500 for SC, ST and PwD candidates, said a Ministry of Textiles release.
The NIFT has commenced its process for entrance exam for batch of 2026-27 in various UG and PG courses of fashion design, management and technology.
The last date for form filling is January 6 2026 (from 7th to 10th January 2026 with late fee) and the exam date is 8th February 2026. The CBT and pen-paper based All India entrance exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in over 100 cities across the country.
Set up in 1986, NIFT is a pioneering institute of fashion education in the country and has been in the vanguard of providing professional human resource to the textile and apparel industry. It was made a statutory institute in 2006 by an Act of the Indian Parliament with the President of India as ‘Visitor’ and has full-fledged campuses all across the country.
NIFT is pioneering thought leadership in design through a network of 16 professionally managed campuses. The Campus at New Delhi was established in 1986 in collaboration with FIT, New York. The Campuses at Chennai, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai were set up in 1995 and that of Bengaluru in 1997. The new millennium witnessed emergence of new campuses in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Raebareli and Shillong. The Campus at Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir is the newly added node to NIFT's network.
NIFT, Bhubaneswar was established in the year 2010 from a temporary campus at Jatni, in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and shifted to its permanent campus, located near KIIT University, that was formally inaugurated on March 31 2012. The present campus is built with the support of the Government of Odisha, in terms of 10 acres of land and a financial assistance of Rs 58.6 crore. NIFT Bhubaneswar has promised a 20% reservation of seats for domicile of Odisha.
