Transatlantic demonstrations sweep across continents
European organisers adapted their marches, utilizing the moniker "No Tyrants" within constitutional monarchies. Roman crowds marched against both Premier Giorgia Meloni’s administration and US-backed strikes targeting Iran. London demonstrators proudly held anti-racism banners, while American expatriates gathered in Paris to sharply denounce endless overseas conflicts.
Back within American borders, resistance took highly varied forms. Minnesota hosted thousands standing shoulder-to-shoulder, featuring musician Bruce Springsteen praising citizens resisting aggressive border sweeps. Smaller conservative towns, including Driggs, Idaho, also witnessed unexpectedly significant turnouts.
Escalating tensions and law enforcement clashes
Most global gatherings remained strictly peaceful throughout the day. However, Los Angeles authorities deployed tear gas near a downtown federal detention facility after individuals hurled concrete blocks. Police arrested several attendees refusing dispersal orders.
Republican officials strongly condemned these gatherings. National Republican Congressional Committee spokesperson Maureen O’Toole dismissed the events as dangerous platforms for violent, far-left fantasies. Surpassing previous turnouts of five million in June and seven million in October, this third wave definitively highlights growing worldwide resistance against current US administrative maneuvers.
