Bhubaneswar, May 15: Khordha Police District on Friday officially launched the “Khordha Police Mitra” initiative along with the unveiling of its dedicated logo and citizen-assistance platform, marking a significant step towards strengthening police-public partnership and promoting community-oriented policing.

The initiative aims to enhance coordination between police and citizens by providing instant access to essential police services through a technology-enabled and citizen-friendly platform. The service facilitates prompt public assistance, encourages community participation in policing activities, and strengthens mutual trust and cooperation between the police and the community.

As part of the initiative, citizens can access multiple police services including complaint registration, emergency assistance, mobile theft reporting, senior citizen support, police station location services, feedback mechanisms, and other public assistance facilities through QR-based access and WhatsApp support. The newly unveiled logo symbolises unity, public trust, safety, responsiveness, and collaborative efforts between the police and the community. It reflects the commitment of Khordha Police towards transparent, accessible, professional, and people-centric policing.

Speaking on the occasion, Vivekananda Sharma,Superintendent of Police, Khordha, highlighted the importance of active public participation in maintaining peace, preventing crime, promoting awareness, and ensuring effective grievance redressal. He encouraged citizens to actively associate with the “Police Mitra” initiative and work together with the police for building a safer and more secure society.

The programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Satyajit Naik,  IG of Police, Central Range, along with senior police officers, public representatives, community members, students, media personnel, and other dignitaries. Khordha Police reiterated its commitment towards effective community policing and responsive public service delivery through this initiative.
