Jio tops TRAI’s Network test with 186 Mbps download speed in Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada

Bhubaneswar, July 3: Odisha’s leading digital service provider Reliance Jio once again proved its network dominance, as it delivered the highest network availability of nearly 98 percent and the highest 186.07 Mbps average data download speed in Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts, in the latest Independent Drive Test (IDT) results published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Jio’s 4G and 5G network superiority was evident from the fact that its average download speed was more than double that of its nearest competitor.

As part of the Independent Drive Test (IDT), TRAI conducted drive tests across city drive covering 446 Kms, in these three districts, from 23rd April to 25th April 2026. TRAI evaluated real-world conditions at multiple busy hotspots across the three districts including Ganjam Railway Station, Gopalpur Beach, Gunupur Bus Stand, Paralakhemundi Bus Stand and Market Street, Mohana market, Rayagada Market and R Udayagiri Market, to reflect stationary user experience.

As per the results, Reliance Jio delivered the highest 186.07 Mbps average download speed, followed by Airtel with 81.74 Mbps, VIL with 17.91 Mbps and BSNL with 6.71 Mbps average download speed. Jio also maintained a robust average upload speed of 13.46 Mbps.

Leading another key network performance indicator, Jio recorded exemplary network availability of nearly 98 percent, leaving all other service providers far behind. As per the IDT results released by TRAI, Jio recorded nearly 98% service availability followed by BSNL with 86.44%, Airtel with 81.39% and VI with 23.3% service availability, based on the total samples collected during the test. Significantly, Jio also recorded less than 2 percent call drop and the least Call Silence Instance during the test, conducted by TRAI.

With its consistent network performance, Reliance Jio continues to set the standard for voice clarity, low latency, and ultra-fast mobile data, bringing the promise of Digital India closer to every corner of the country.

As per the latest telecom subscription data, published by TRAI, Jio leads in the wireless, wireline and fixed wireless access (FWA) segments in Odisha with over 1.8 crore mobile subscribers and over 7.66 lakh JioFiber and JioAirFiber home broadband subscribers in the state, fueled by its extensive 4G and 5G network.

Powered by its cutting-edge technology, robust infrastructure, and customer-first approach, Jio continues to drive Odisha’s digital transformation across urban and rural landscapes.
