"India Stands for Peace, Dialogue Is the Only Way Forward"; Says President Droupadi Murmu

Bhubaneswar, June 20: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday reaffirmed India's commitment to global peace, emphasizing that dialogue and mutual understanding are the most effective means to resolve international conflicts.

Addressing a public gathering at Rairangpur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district during the second anniversary celebrations of the BJP government in the state, Murmu said India has consistently advocated peace and cooperation, even during periods of global instability and conflict. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the event.

“Whenever the world has faced war-like situations and uncertainty, India has championed the message of peace. Lasting solutions emerge through dialogue and discussion, not through war,” the President said.

Highlighting India's growing influence on the global stage, Murmu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that the country's international standing has strengthened significantly under his stewardship. She also lauded his commitment to national development and the welfare of citizens.

Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, the President said India demonstrated remarkable resilience and capability by successfully carrying out one of the world's largest vaccination drives. She noted that the country not only protected its own population but also extended vaccine assistance to several nations during the health crisis.

Murmu further underscored India's humanitarian approach, saying the country has consistently been among the first to offer support and relief to nations affected by natural disasters. Such efforts, she said, reflect India's enduring values of compassion, solidarity, and global cooperation.

The President's remarks highlighted India's role as a responsible global partner committed to peace, humanitarian assistance, and collective progress.
