Hyderabad Doctor Arrested in Gujarat for Planning Deadly ISIS Terror Plot Using Ricin Poison

ISIS Terror Plot Foiled: Doctor Arrested with Deadly Poison in Gujarat

In a major crackdown on terror activities, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has foiled a dangerous ISIS terror plot that aimed to strike multiple Indian cities. A 35-year-old doctor from Hyderabad, identified as Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly masterminding a bio-terror attack using the deadly poison Ricin.

The operation, led by Deputy SP S L Chaudhary based on specific intelligence, also led to the arrest of two associates from Uttar Pradesh.

Arrest and Seizures

Dr. Saiyed was intercepted by the ATS at the Adalaj toll plaza near Ahmedabad while travelling in a silver hatchback. Following his interrogation, investigators tracked down two more suspects: Azad Suleman Sheikh (20), a tailor from Shamli, and Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem Khan (23), a student from Lakhimpur Kheri. These two men were reportedly helping supply weapons to Saiyed and were detained in the Banaskantha district.

During the search, the ATS recovered significant incriminating material, including two Glock pistols, a Beretta, 30 live cartridges, and worryingly, 4 kg of castor-bean mash.

Bio-Terror Angle

The discovery of the castor-bean mash is particularly alarming. This substance is used to produce Ricin, one of the most potent toxins in the world with no known antidote. Police believe Dr. Saiyed, who holds an MBBS degree from China, was preparing to extract Ricin in large quantities for a potential mass poisoning attack.

Foreign Handlers

Investigations revealed that the Hyderabad doctor was in direct contact with Abu Khadija, an operative based in Afghanistan associated with the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISKP). Officials suspect Khadija coordinated the plot and arranged for the weapons, which originated in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, to be smuggled via drones from Pakistan.

An FIR has been registered under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act against all three accused, as well as the absconding handler, Abu Khadija. Dr. Saiyed has been remanded to ATS custody until November 17 as the investigation continues to uncover deeper links in this ISIS terror plot.
