Prime Minister celebrates Sikh Guru's legacy of selfless sacrifice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the nation in celebrating the Guru Gobind Singh Parkash Utsav this Saturday. In a moving tribute, the PM emphasized how the tenth Sikh Guru’s life serves as a timeless beacon for truth, justice, and righteousness.

Through a social media post, Modi expressed deep reverence for the Guru’s legacy of sacrifice. He noted that the teachings of the Guru continue to guide people toward selfless service while protecting human dignity across generations. For the Prime Minister, the Guru represents the ultimate embodiment of compassion and bravery.

Adding a personal touch to his message, PM Modi shared memories and photographs from his recent pilgrimage to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib. This sacred site, the birthplace of the Guru, holds immense spiritual weight. Modi recalled his darshan of the Holy Jore Sahib, paying respects to both the Guru and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.

The Guru Gobind Singh Parkash Utsav festivities are marked by vibrant traditions. Gurudwaras across India, including those in Odisha, are beautifully illuminated to symbolize the "Prakash" or light brought into the world by the Guru. Devotees participate in Anand Path and Prabhat Feris, filling the air with spiritual energy days before the main event.

This celebration follows closely on the heels of Veer Baal Diwas, observed on December 26. This day honors the supreme sacrifice of the Guru's younger sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh. These young martyrs, aged nine and six, stood firm against oppression to defend their faith. By institutionalizing this day in 2022, the Prime Minister has ensured their bravery remains etched in the national consciousness.

Today, as people visit their local Gurudwaras for prayers and community service, the message remains clear: the path of justice and humanity shown by the Sikh Gurus is very relevant.
