Bhubaneswar, May 6: The state government has issued a stern warning against any obstruction in the ongoing census process, stating that strict action will be taken against those found hindering the exercise. It has particularly cautioned private school authorities against preventing teachers from discharging census duties.
According to official sources, preparations for the 2027 Census are underway, with teachers and school staff engaged as enumerators and supervisors. However, reports have surfaced that some private schools are restricting their staff from participating in the census work.
Taking serious note of the matter, the government has directed all District Education Officers to issue notices to both government and private schools. The directive makes it mandatory for schools to relieve teachers and staff assigned to census duties without any delay.
The government has further clarified that any non-compliance or negligence in following the instructions will lead to stringent action against the concerned authorities.
