Saab is scheduled to manufacture these highly lethal launchers at its newly established production site in Jhajjar, Haryana. This modern factory marks Sweden's first fully foreign-owned defence manufacturing plant on Indian soil.

Soldiers deployed along the icy Himalayan borders or within the blistering Rajasthan deserts will maintain absolute combat readiness.

Historical ties with this specific platform run deep, considering Indian forces have relied on earlier Carl Gustaf iterations since the mid-1970s for daily operations. This vital upgrade ensures full compatibility with existing stockpiles of ammunition while introducing advanced support for digital fire-control sights.

Producing these multi-role weapons locally directly boosts national self-reliance in the defence sector. Depending on the loaded ammunition, frontline troops can accurately engage and destroy enemy tanks, concrete bunkers, or heavily fortified structures from up to 1,000 meters away. Operators can also deploy specialized smoke screens and illumination rounds to provide critical tactical support during night missions.

Securing this vital contract ensures a reliable, continuous supply of necessary spare parts and long-term maintenance solutions. Initial unit deliveries are expected to commence within twelve months of signing the final agreement.
