Tigiria, May 29: A bomb attack was reported in Baliput village under the Tigiria police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district, leaving two persons injured. The injured were admitted to the Tigiria Medical Centre for treatment.

The incident took place at a village square in Baliput Panchayat under Tigiria police station limits. While the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be confirmed, police suspect that previous enmity may have led to the violence.

According to reports, four unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled bombs in Baliput village. Three bombs exploded at the spot, while one unexploded bomb was also found lying at the scene.

A youth identified as Priya Ranjan Panda sustained injuries in the attack. After receiving information about the incident, Tigiria police rushed to the village and launched an investigation.

Tension gripped the village following the bomb attack, while the accused reportedly fled the area immediately after carrying out the crime.

Sources indicate that the attack may have been linked to an old rivalry connected to the illegal country liquor trade, though police are yet to officially confirm the motive.
