Bhubaneswar: The Baseball Association of Odisha (BAO), under the aegis of the Amateur Baseball Federation of India (ABFI), is all set to host the 31st Sub-Junior National Baseball Championship from 24th to 29th May 2026 at the KIIT and KISS University, Bhubaneswar.
The championship will witness participation from teams across the country in both boys’ and girls’ categories, making it one of the major national sporting events for young baseball talents in India. According to the organising committee, around 20 boys’ teams and 18 girls’ teams, with nearly 1,000 participants including players, technical officials, volunteers, and support staff, are expected to participate in the tournament.
To avoid heatwave conditions, the organisers have made extensive arrangements for air-conditioned accommodation for players, officials, and dignitaries at the venue and all matches will be conducted during morning and evening hours.
A total of 120 medals, comprising 40 Gold, 40 Silver, and 40 Bronze medals, will be awarded. Championship trophies and individual excellence awards including Best Player (MVP), Best Discipline Team, Best Hitter, Best Pitcher, Best Catcher, Best Scorer, and Best Umpire will also be presented during the closing ceremony. The Baseball Association of Odisha will also felicitate two international players of KISS University
with cash awards.
