Athawale, Majhi discuss strengthening social security measures in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 24: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, paid a courtesy visit to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister discussed various issues related to social justice and welfare in Odisha.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Central and State Governments to ensure effective implementation of social welfare initiatives and to further enhance social security measures for vulnerable sections of society.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination between the Centre and the State in carrying out public welfare programmes.

Highlighting the State Government’s commitment to social welfare, the Chief Minister informed the Union Minister about several initiatives being undertaken in Odisha.

These include the inclusion of an additional six lakh beneficiaries under the Madhu Babu Pension Scheme and the provision of an extra five kilograms of rice under the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana.

The Chief Minister noted that Odisha has been implementing a range of social security measures aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.
