21 Legislative Houses, including Odisha Assembly, turn digital under NeVA

Central financial assistance of Rs 138.17 crore has been disbursed to these Legislative Houses to facilitate this transition, the Union Minister told the House.

21 Legislative Houses, including Odisha Assembly, turn digital under NeVA

Bhubaneswar, August 5: The Odisha Legislative Assembly is among 21 Legislative houses in the country that has been transformed into a digital Legislature under the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project. The Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

In a written reply, Union MoS for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said that a total of 33 out of the 37 State/UT Legislatures have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for the implementation of the NeVA.

“Out of these, 21 Legislative Houses have been transformed into digital Legislatures under the NeVA project,” said Meghwal.

The 21 Legislative Houses that have transitioned to Digital Houses under the NeVA project are - Punjab Legislative Assembly, Odisha Legislative Assembly, Bihar Legislative Assembly, Bihar Legislative Council, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Manipur Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Tripura Legislative Assembly, Haryana Legislative Assembly, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Mizoram Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Puducherry Legislative Assembly, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Assam Legislative Assembly, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and Delhi Legislative Assembly.

The NeVA public portals are equipped with AI-driven multilingual translation tools developed by BHASHINI, enabling content translation into the 22 Scheduled Indian Languages and English.

Several safeguards have been incorporated into the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) software suite to provide State/UT Legislatures with a robust, secure, and resilient digital environment for conducting legislative business.
