15 Maoists, including Rs 1 Cr bounty leader Anal Da, killed in Jharkhand encounter

CHAIBASA, January 22: Fifteen Maoists, including their key leader Patiram Majhi alias Anal Da, who had a Rs 1 crore bounty on his head, were killed in a fierce gunfight with security forces in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district on Thursday, police confirmed.

Around 1,500 personnel from the CRPF's CoBRA unit are involved in the ongoing operation in the Saranda forest's Kumdi area, under the Kiriburu police station jurisdiction.

A police spokesperson reported, "The bodies of 15 Maoists, including top leader Anal Da, have been recovered. A large cache of arms and ammunition has also been seized. The encounter, which started at 6 a.m., is continuing."
