Bhubaneswar, August 3: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning across several districts in Odisha over the next five days due to a monsoon trough over the northeast Bay of Bengal.
A Yellow Warning has been issued for multiple districts till August 8, with expected gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph.
Sunday Forecast (Till August 4 Morning):
Light to moderate rain is likely in North Odisha and isolated places in the South. Yellow warning for thunderstorm and gusty winds in 20+ districts, including Balasore, Cuttack, Khurda, and Sambalpur.
Monday Forecast (Till August 5 Morning):
Rain is likely in North and South Coastal Odisha, and isolated rain in South Interior Odisha. The thunderstorm warning has been extended to districts such as Rayagada and Koraput, in addition to those already listed.
