Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: Night temperatures across Odisha are likely to rise further over the next two days, leading to a gradual reduction in cold conditions, the Meteorological Department said. The minimum temperature is expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during this period.

Fog and dew are likely to prevail in many parts of the state till February 1. A yellow warning for dense fog has been issued for six districts on Thursday. In Bhubaneswar, the night temperature is expected to hover around 17 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours.

According to the weather forecast, fog may occur at one or two places in Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh and Khurda districts on Thursday. Dense fog warning has been issued for Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Khurda districts.

On Friday, fog is likely at some places in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Gajapati and Cuttack districts. Similar conditions are expected on Saturday in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Puri, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Jagatsinghpur districts.

Meanwhile, Phulbani recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius, while Daringbadi recorded 10.5 degrees Celsius. The lowest night temperature in the state was recorded at Puri at 8.5 degrees Celsius.

During the day, Dhenkanal recorded the highest temperature at 31.8 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda recorded 31.6 degrees Celsius, Sambalpur 31.5 degrees, Paralakhemundi 31.4 degrees, Titlagarh 31.3 degrees, Bhubaneswar 31.2 degrees and Bhawanipatna 31 degrees Celsius.
