New Delhi, May 9: In a significant move prompted by national security concerns, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed all Chartered Accountants examinations scheduled from May 9 to 14, 2025.
The official announcement was made on Thursday, citing the escalating security situation across the country due to increasing tensions between India and Pakistan.
According to the statement released by ICAI, "In partial modification of the Institute's Important Announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/2025 dated 13th January 2025, it is announced for general information that in view of the tense and security situation in the country, the remaining papers of Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification Course Examinations [International Taxation - Assessment Test (INTT AT)] May 2025 from 9th May 2025 to 14th May 2025, stand postponed."
The examinations affected include those for the CA Intermediate, Final, and the Post Qualification Course (International Taxation Assessment Test). While the exams conducted between May 2 and May 8 proceeded as scheduled, the remaining papers will be rescheduled, with new dates to be announced in due course.
Previously, CA Intermediate Group 1 exams were held on May 3, 5, and 7, while Group 2 exams were slated for May 9, 11, and 14.
The CA Final Group 1 exams took place on May 2, 4, and 6, and the Group 2 exams were planned for May 8, 10, and 13. The INTT AT exams, scheduled for May 10 and 13, also fall under the postponement.
The decision follows a sharp escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan, with cross-border hostilities intensifying in recent days. In response, authorities have ordered the closure of all schools in sensitive districts of Punjab and Rajasthan, as well as all educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, until further notice.
The ICAI has assured candidates that the revised examination schedule will be published shortly and has urged students to regularly check the official website for updates.
