Late goals secure thrilling win for Bengal Tigers today.

Bhubaneswar: Spectators at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium witnessed a spectacular turnaround on Sunday as the Shrachi Bengal Tigers clawed their way back from a two-goal deficit to defeat the SG Pipers 3-2. This crucial victory in the Men’s Hero Hockey India League keeps the Tigers' hopes alive for a top-four finish.

Early proceedings suggested a difficult evening for the Bengal side. The SG Pipers dominated the initial exchanges and broke the deadlock in just the fourth minute. A well-constructed move saw Aditya Lalage slip a pass to Dilraj Singh, who confidently buried a reverse hit from close range. Despite creating chances, the Tigers failed to capitalize, with Christopher Ruhr missing a close attempt just before the first quarter ended.

Trouble deepened for the Tigers early in the third quarter. Tomas Domene doubled the Pipers' lead through a penalty corner, his powerful shot deflecting off a defender and into the net. Trailing 0-2, the match seemed to be slipping away from the Bengal squad, despite goalkeeper Pawan making several crucial saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

However, the game turned on its head in a chaotic three-minute spell. In the 45th minute, Jugraj Singh finally breached the Pipers' defence by converting a penalty corner. Mere seconds later, Abhishek controlled a long ball from Boccard Gauthier and fired a sizzling shot past the goalkeeper to level the scores at 2-2.

Riding high on this sudden momentum, the Shrachi Bengal Tigers completed their comeback in the 48th minute. Sukhjeet Singh orchestrated a quick break, threading the ball to Affan Yousuf. Finding himself in space, Yousuf made no mistake, slapping the ball into the bottom corner for the winner. The Pipers launched desperate attacks in the dying minutes, but the Tigers held firm to secure a memorable win.
