Athagarh, April 11: In a tragic road accident, a truck driver lost his life after a chips-laden Hyva truck rammed into an iron rod-laden vehicle on the Oranda overbridge under Gurudijhatia police limits in Athagarh area of Odisha’s Cuttack district.

According to sources, the iron rod-laden truck was en route from Dhenkanal to Choudwar when the Hyva truck, approaching from behind at high speed, crashed into it. The collision was so intense that the driver of the Hyva truck died on the spot.

Reports indicate the impact was extremely severe, leading to severe injuries to the driver. The scene of the accident reflected the magnitude of the crash, with both vehicles sustaining heavy damage.

Upon receiving information, personnel from Gurudijhatia police and Athagarh fire services rushed to the spot and launched rescue and clearance operations. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the accident.
