Koraput, June 17: A human skeleton recovered from a forested area in Odisha's Koraput district is suspected to be that of a 66-year-old man who had been missing for more than a month, police said.

The skeletal remains were found in a forest located between Kerimiti and Budaguda villages. Following the discovery, police and a scientific team reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Clothes, including a lungi, shirt and towel, were found near the skeleton. Based on these belongings, family members identified the deceased as Budu Bhatra, a resident of Indraguda village under Bagadiri panchayat in Kundura block.

According to family members, Budu Bhatra had been missing for the past 35 days. A missing person report had reportedly been filed after he could not be traced despite extensive searches.
