Sambalpur, Jan 12: IIM Sambalpur, one of India’s premier management institutions, hosted its 5-day CEO Immersion Programme for the Executive MBA (2025-27) & MBA for Working Professionals (2024-2026) batch, Delhi Centre.

The theme for this year is “The Future & Nature of Work: Skills, Culture, and Sustainability,” which reflects the evolving workplace where the future is shaped not only by technology but also by continuously evolving skills, adaptive cultures, and sustainability. The aim of this program is to provide both batches with practical insights, exposure to industry trends, and leadership skills through one-on-one interaction with industry professionals.

The event was graced by Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, NALCO,; Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Biswajit Mahapatra, Head of Customer Solutions and CIO Advisory, India and South Asia, Amazon (AWS), and Narendra Babu, CTO, PayU Payment.

Mahadeo Jaiswal, said, “By way of this event, we must understand that future of work will be shaped by what we call the 3D Disruption- digitalization, decarbonization, and democratization of business. Globally, organisations are reorganising themselves around Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and today 53 per cent of these GCCs are based in India, making the country a centre of excellence for global business. New jobs and skills will emerge from clean energy sectors such as solar, nuclear, and bio-energy. Traditional automobile companies will give way to electric vehicles, and petrol pumps will eventually be replaced by charging stations.”

Talking about the future and nature of work, Brijendra Pratap Singh added, “The ability to see the future is one of the most critical leadership skills for survival and growth, because change is inevitable. Organisations that change after disruption merely survive, those that change with disruption prosper, but those that change before disruption arrives are the ones that lead.”

Highlighting IIM Sambalpur’s social commitment, Keshav Rao said, “In just ten years, the institution has demonstrated tremendous hard work and commitment to institution building, with deep engagement not only with the academic community but also with industry and the local community. Such engagement has helped community members improve their incomes and manage their affairs more effectively, reflecting the institution’s holistic approach to growth and development as  well as giving importance to women empowerment”.

The CEO Immersion Programme is one of the institution’s flagship initiatives, aimed at facilitating meaningful engagement between industry leaders and our students. The programmes are designed to explore strategies to deal with the future of work through skill development, promoting cultures, and sustainable business practices.
