Majhi felicitating the hockey sensation at a special event held in the Lok Seva Bhawan encouraged the Team India to win Gold in the next Olympics under the leadership of Rohidas.
On the occasion, Majhi assured all sorts of help to enable India to win more medals and accolades in major international events in future.
Earlier, Rohidas was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival in Bhubaneswar. Rohidas, was the only player from Odisha, The hockey team clinced the bronze medal at the Olympics. He was felicitated by several organisations for being instrumental in the success in Paris.
Rohidas, who hails from Saunamara village in Sundargarh district, was greeted by fans, family, and officials on his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar.
The Odisha government has announced a cash reward of Rs 4 crore for Rohidas, while the Indian hockey team players will receive Rs 15 lakh each and the support staff Rs 10 lakh each.
Rohidas, who played a crucial role in India’s success in Paris, dedicated his medal to the people of Odisha and thanked Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their moral support.
