Officials said the water level upstream of the barrage stood at 79.10 feet, while the downstream level was 75.00 feet. To regulate irrigation and river flow, four of the ten irrigation gates at the barrage have been opened.
The danger level at Mundali Barrage has been fixed at 97.25 feet upstream and 95.05 feet downstream, both of which are well above the current water levels.
Authorities are closely monitoring the river's discharge as more floodwater from the Hirakud Dam is expected to move downstream in the coming days. However, with the present water level remaining stable, there is no immediate cause for concern.
