Jatni, Aug 26: Jatni town has been placed under high alert ahead of the famous Ganesh Puja celebrations. Police have tightened security with late-night block checking and heavy patrolling across major areas of the town.
Armed police forces, along with independent police officials armed with guns and vans, were seen conducting patrols at key locations including Thana Chhak, Sitaram Chhak, Golei Market, Station Bazaar, Raja Bazaar, and Haribhai Chhak.
Under the leadership of Jatni police station IIC Stalin Biswal, multiple teams have been formed to conduct patrols and visit various puja pandals to ensure law and order.
As part of preventive measures, the Commissionerate Police have also launched special drives to apprehend miscreants and habitual offenders, particularly targeting anti-social elements and intoxicated individuals.
Authorities emphasised that these steps are aimed at ensuring peaceful and incident-free celebrations of Jatni’s much-celebrated Ganesh Puja.
