Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in Odisha Till September 17

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rain and thunderstorm activity across several parts of Odisha and issued yellow warnings for different districts till September 17.

Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in Odisha Till September 17

Bhubaneswar, September 13: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rain and thunderstorm activity across several parts of Odisha and issued yellow warnings for different districts till September 17.

For Sunday, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh districts.

On Monday, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati districts. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are also likely in Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh.

For September 15, the weather office has forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati districts.

The heavy rainfall warning will continue on September 16, with Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati likely to experience heavy rain at one or two places.

On September 17, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati districts.
