Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: In a major breakthrough in the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, the Crime Branch arrested most-wanted accused Muna Mohanty from near Dasapalla in Nayagarh district. Mohanty, considered one of the masterminds behind the scam, was apprehended following a well-planned raid.

​​​​​​​Meanwhile, Shankar Prusty, another prime accused and alleged kingpin of the scam, remains on the run. The Crime Branch has intensified its efforts to trace his whereabouts. Intelligence inputs suggest that Shankar may have fled to Dubai via Nepal and is currently in hiding.

In a new development, Shankar has reportedly filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Orissa High Court, even as efforts to apprehend him continue.

The Crime Branch has stated that the investigation is ongoing, and further arrests may follow in the coming days.
