Gyanesh Kumar committed ‘biggest crime’ by trying to silence nation’s voice: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, November 1:Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of attempting to silence the voice of the nation, describing it as the “biggest crime”. Addressing a mega INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, he asserted that the Opposition would continue its fight to protect the Constitution and democratic rights.

Rahul Gandhi said the protest was not associated with any particular political party or leader but represented the collective voice of the country. He said the Opposition had no personal enmity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah or Gyanesh Kumar, stressing that its struggle was based on love, non-violence and democratic values.

“We do not hate Narendra Modi, Amit Shah or Gyanesh Kumar. We believe in spreading love, not hatred. But the voice of every Indian citizen is more important to me,” he said.

The Congress leader vowed that the INDIA bloc would not resort to violence or hatred but would firmly resist any attempt to undermine the Constitution.

Invoking the example of ‘Shiv ki Baraat’, Gandhi called for an inclusive India where everyone could participate without discrimination. He also highlighted the concerns of farmers and students, saying farmers should receive the rewards of their hard work and educated youth should have access to employment opportunities.

“We do not want a country that belongs to just two or three people,” he said, adding that the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar was the first step towards putting the country back on the right track.
